We are more than delighted to welcome you all to the first edition of EMINE ORNEK Model United Nations. This is the first of many steps to achieving our dream of hosting a mun. We can’t wait to greet all of you, our special guests, and we hope to share our excitement with you!
Even though we are both eleventh grade students, we worked as hard as we could to make this the best conference possible. As secretary general, Alara Bizcanlı and as deputy-secretary general Nisa Annie Yıldırm we both started our mun journey in the seventh grade. We have been passionate about it ever since. Looking back on our story and seeing our progress, we are very proud to see how far we have come.
We hope to be able to provide you a judgement free zone to express your countries’ ideologies while discussing the agenda items that we have carefully selected for you. Our aim is for you to have the most fun and enjoy trying to solve these problems.
Our hope is to see you on February 16th, prepared well, as excited as us! We have worked really hard and tried our best to present you the best conference experience that you’ll ever have. It is very important for us to see you having a good time while disscussing the worldwide problems. Don’t forget to save the date and set your calendars to 16-19th February! We hope to see you soon!

Agenda Item: The emerging challenges of drug/firearms trafficking and strengthening international cooperation to address the links between illicit drug trafficking and illicit firearms trafficking.
The committee will talk about what are the challenges that drugs/firearms trafficking brings up and will try to find solutions while being in a negotiation with each other. The committee is simply about the problems that illicit drugs/firearms trafficking emerges since it is the Model of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. The UNODC should be finding solutions on how to strength the international cooperation since there can be some disagreements between countries. It is important for them to address the links between these corruptions and at the end there should be some resolution on a paper about simply how to prevent corruptions like the emerging challenges of drug trafficking and firearm trafficking. The communication and objective looking will play the key role for the countries to get together and make things easy and simple.

Agenda Item: Right to privacy in a digital age and the need of taking precautions about private life.
OHCHR will talk about how to prevent falls of private information that gets leaked and humans’ right of their own privacy in this digital age. Since the technology is more used than ever now, it is significant for countries to talk about precautions that can be taken together. It is going to be the committee’s duty to find the best way to solve the agenda item in the most efficient way because the topic can be about more than a person’s private life such as a country’s privacy and top secrets. It is going to take an important role for delegates to branch the topic as much as they can because as it is seen, it can be more than “private life or a human’s own privacy” when it comes to privacy in a digital age because at the end public constitute the country. In some situations delegates would have to think more than their citizens’ privacy such as their whole country.

Agenda Item: The prohibition of the development, production and stockpiling of bacteriological (biological) and toxin weapons and their destruction
General Assembly will talk about “the new world technology” weapons which are toxin and biological and more dangerous than the ones made before. It’ll be discussed whether it should be prohibited or not because while it is talked about that those weapons are truly a danger for people, animals and even nature, humanity is still using it against any kind of threat that comes from an enemy. The countries’ delegates should clearly reflect their opinions and state the reasons of it’s both pros and cons. At the conclusion, it is expected that they would agree on their destruction or improvement. It is also a challenge for them to reflect their opinions kindly to the other delegates since there were some situations for humanity to be ashamed in the past. After all, hopefully, there will be a resolution that most of countries will agree on.

Agenda Item: Battle of Trafalgar 1805
The special committee will be in the timeline of The Battle of Trafalgar where the English army fights against the French and Spanish armies. Both of the sides’ fleets are going to be assigned one by one (one ship by one ship) to each commander. The cabinets will try to be the ones to survive and the winner of the battle which is also a fight on the ocean.
