UNHRC stands for United Nations Human Rights Council, which is a body of 47 member states within the UN system that is responsible for promoting and protecting human rights around the world. It was established in 2006 to replace the former UN Commission on Human Rights. The UNHRC can address any human rights situation or issue through various mechanisms, such as resolutions, special procedures, commissions of inquiry, and the Universal Periodic Review. The UNHRC also works with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and other UN agencies to coordinate human rights activities and provide technical assistance and capacity-building.
The United Nations Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) is a key organ within the UN General Assembly dedicated to addressing global security challenges and disarmament issues. Focusing on the agenda item "Prohibition of Chemical & Biological Weapons," the committee convenes to discuss and formulate policies aimed at preventing the development, stockpiling, and use of these weapons worldwide. Delegates in the UN DISEC committee collaborate to draft resolutions and recommendations that promote international cooperation, transparency, and compliance with disarmament commitments to ensure a safer and more secure global environment.
UNSC stands for United Nations Security Council, which is one of the six principal organs of the UN. It is responsible for maintaining international peace and security, admitting new members to the UN, and approving changes to the UN Charter. It has five permanent members (China, France, Russia, the UK, and the US) and ten non-permanent members elected for two-year terms. The permanent members have veto power over any substantive resolution. The UNSC can authorize peacekeeping operations, impose sanctions, and approve military action.
UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. It is a specialized agency of the UN that aims to promote peace and security through international cooperation in education, science, culture, communication and information. UNESCO was founded in 1945 and has its headquarters in Paris, France. Some of its activities include designating World Heritage Sites, supporting literacy and education programs, fostering scientific research and innovation, and protecting cultural diversity and human rights
