Most Distinguished Future Participants of Galatasaray Lisesi Model United Nations Conference 2021, We, Elif Akoğlu and Nisan Başçiftçi, hereby standing as the Secretaries-General of Galatasaray Lisesi Model United Nations Conference 2021, invite you all in the name of our Academic and Organization Teams to the sixth annual session of Galatasaray Lisesi Model United Nations Conference (GSLMUN), during which you will have an indelible experience at the heart of a historical metropolitan, Istanbul. GSLMUN has authenticated its quality with its first conference in 2015. Now, it is our turn, as our team and us, to further enhance our conference with the feedback received and guarantee a high-quality experience. We are bigger, better, and stronger than ever. Throughout centuries, Istanbul has taken the contemplation of others as the centre of civilization. It is where you can embrace a ton variety of cultures, traditions, beliefs by just wandering around and observing the environment. Holding a conference at this spot has its perks, being close to the medial of current events. During this year’s conference, this is how we are planning on affixing different cultures: a conference during Christmas in Istanbul, with special Christmas themes. We would like to thank our Directors-General Mesut Gölmez and Ege Karaarslan for their special focus on organizational matters by planning a noteworthy conference embellished with special social events, and in-conference activities and our Deputy Secretaries-General Yusuf Eker and Kıral Ozan Kranda for the teamwork that we have managed to perform. GSLMUN2021 Will Consist Of Seven Committees, Four Of Them Being Special And 2 Of Them Being General Assembly Committees. Delegates Will Resolve Most Controversial And Important International Problems In Disarmament And International Security Committee (DISEC), Social, Humanitarian And Cultural Committee (SOCHUM), United Nations Security Council (UNSC), Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Experienced Delegates Are Welcomed To Apply For More Challenging Special Committees, Which Consist Of African Union, John F. Kennedy’s Cabinet, And Spanish Civil War (JCC). All being said, we would like to conclude by welcoming you, our prospective participant with a crucial quote. As John Foster Dulles stated: “The United Nations represents not a final stage in the development of world order, but only a primitive stage. Therefore, its primary task is to create the conditions which will make possible a more highly developed organization.” Furthermore, as Model UNers it is our aim to stimulate the primitive stage in the development of world order at its very best, which we will achieve in GSLMUN 2021. Galatasaray High school

Founded in 1481 by Bayezid the 2nd, Galatasaray High school is the oldest high school in Turkey. It is located in the heart of Istanbul, Beyoğlu with its 153-year-old campus. Galatasaray as an institution has always viewed social sciences in a special light as creating efe.gslmun@gmail.comoutput for Turkish bureaucrats and democrats has always been one of the central roles of Galatasaray. Consequently, it has created an environment that fosters learning and self-improvement. Valuing extracurricular activities along with academics, Galatasaray High School hosts a variety of activities that give students an opportunity to excel at addressing an audience, debating, and improving their command of the English(and in other activities French) language. As it was stated previously Galatasaray High School, with its historic campus, will provide an astonishing atmosphere to any participants.

About GSLMUN2021

The fifth session of GSLMUN, held in December 2019, was a great success with over 750 participants from all over the world. GSLMUN, with its highly motivated organizer board and international student officer and press team, ensures a smooth process before, during and after the conference through innovative practices such as the online approval panel and online participant system, which are in accordance with our green policy help minimize paper waste. We are certain that GSLMUN will continue to maintain its high quality of debate and the friendly atmosphere among its international participants in the upcoming year. Our aim is to gather enthusiastic participants and provide them with a chance to make connections from around the world, enjoy a magnificent city, and engage in quality debates at the same time. We hope to achieve this goal by blending our own experience as a MUN club with your participation, and as a result, creating a productive and enjoyable environment in a peaceful atmosphere. Our conference abides by the HMUN rules of procedure within its committees. GSLMUN has been and will be held in Galatasaray High School, The second oldest educational institution inTurkey. Our school, with its 153-year-old campus which is one of the signature landmarks of Istanbul will guarantee that our visitors will have an unforgettable experience.
