CODE OF CONDUCT
To maintain the decorum and professionalism of the conference, delegates are required to follow the guidelines outlined in this Code of Conduct. All delegates must familiarize themselves with these expectations, as adherence is mandatory throughout the conference. Failure to comply may result in removal from the conference and/or disqualification from events and awards.
1. Professional Conduct: Delegates must behave professionally at all times. Those who are disruptive or excessively intoxicated will be asked to leave the conference and will not be eligible for awards. The MUN secretariat reserves the right to deny entry to delegates who appear overly intoxicated or to remove them from MUN transportation.
2. Photography Consent: By registering for MUN, delegates consent to being photographed by MUN staff for future promotional materials. If a delegate wishes not to be photographed, they must inform the Director of Media.
3. Dress Code: Delegates are required to wear Western business attire. Professional dress is expected, and those who do not comply may be asked to leave.
4. Harassment Policy: Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated and will be addressed promptly. Discriminatory behavior, including racism and sexism, that undermines the inclusivity of the conference will result in disqualification from awards and reporting to Head Delegates/Advisors. Any form of bigotry will be reported to the Under-Secretary-General, impacting awards at both the individual and delegation levels.
5. Sexual Harassment And Violence: Any incidents of sexual harassment or violence are strictly prohibited. Such actions will be reported to the Head Delegate/Advisor, and offenders will be disqualified from awards and removed from MUN.
6. Behavioral Expectations: The Secretariat reserves the right to expel delegates for unacceptable behavior, including but not limited to vulgar language, suggestive comments, inappropriate gestures, physical violence, or derogatory remarks made in or out of committee.
7. Electronic Devices: To promote a focused committee environment, all cell phones should be silenced before sessions begin. Devices may be used outside the committee room if necessary. Delegates needing to receive calls due to medical or family emergencies should inform the committee director beforehand. The dais may implement a paperless format and utilize technology as needed.
8. Sessions At The Conference: If there is no valid reason, participants who miss more than 3 sessions cannot receive awards and certificates.
9. Obligation Related To Delegation: In order to apply as a delegation, at least one advisor or head delegate is required for the lead of the delegation. The participation of at least 7 students is mandatory for the delegation application.
10. Related To Allocations: Preferably the committees, country and characters you specify, may not be assigned to you. But we will take into consideration. And your assigned allocations cannot be changed in any way.
11. School Policies: Delegates must also adhere to the regulations set forth by their respective schools and sponsors.
12. Refund Policy: TEDU Model United Conferences has no return policy. If you have paid the conference fee, there will be no refund for any reason.
